Hi guys.
I’m on a bus home now and I read something on a group on whatsapp a few minutes ago and it got me thinking.
You know how when things get put of control and maybe leads to death or something tragic that’s when people start saying “You should open up, we are all family ” Bla Bla Bla…
Truth is, I’m usually skeptical about opening up to people when I’m going through any problem. This is because most often, people want you to open up, not because they care but because they want to make sure their own situation is not worse than yours.
Don’t get me wrong, I tell people who have a stake in my life (you know what I mean) to open up to me because I trust myself. Other times, for some other people, I’m not sure I know what role I’m expected to play when the person opens up to me because I have seen first hand how people expect you to immediately take up their battles and fight it for them.
Again, don’t get me wrong, there are very genuine people who really care and those who just need someone to unburden to.
But I’ll like to know, how do you handle opening up to people and being opened up to.
